Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, but represented by Seattle's own Sub Pop Records, Obits came by the KEXP studios for a live — part tribal, part rock — set to celebrate the release of their new album, Bed & Bugs. Lead singer Rick Froberg mixed his Jack White-style singing voice with a penchant for screaming on the mic to belt out his thoughtful lyrics. Backed by guitars, bass and drums, the band packed enough sound to quiet even the most crowded New York subway trains. Obits currently has east coast and international dates scheduled for tour, but check their web site for more updates. In the meantime, you can see their live KEXP in-studio here:
