  • Just keep reminding yourself: it's for charity. Mac DeMarco is selling a decrepit pair of Vans on eBay — the same ones he wore at our 2014 Bumbershoot Music Lounge — with proceeds going to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. With six days left to bid, the auction has already exceeded $10,000. Check out the listing for an "official smell test" and some hilarious "Questions to Seller" that DeMarco seems to be gamely fielding. [Pitchfork]
  • Christmas is over, but Grimes has one last gift for you: check out the track "Christmas Song II (grinch)" that she recorded over the holiday break with her step-brother Jay Worthy. As she explains on her Tumblr, "me and my step bro jay worthy make an annual christmas song with our siblings in order to avoid obligatory dinner. this is NOT a single from the upcoming album, not a serious piece of art in any capacity and not an official grimes release." Note: there's also some swearing, so heads up if you're watching this at work. [Under the Radar]

  • Speaking of celebrations, Deer Tick are commemorating their ten year anniversary with a six-night residency at the Brooklyn Bowl, covering a different classic album in its entirety. So far, they've performed odes to NRBQ, The Beatles, and on Saturday, Lou Reed’s solo release Transformer. Watch guest vocalist Sharon van Etten join the band for "Perfect Day" below. The celebration continues through New Year’s Eve and includes performances of Devo‘s Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! and Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Also over the weekend, Ryan Adams was spotlighted on the talk show CBS This Morning: Saturday, discussing his recent resurgence ("It's cool. It feels like my soul is full and it's overflowing and I'm taking just dictation from what I can get from it") and his life with Ménière's Disease, an inner-ear disorder that affects balance and hearing.
