  • We're celebrating "Celebrating Nothing," a brand new single from NYC electropop duo Phantogram, out September 30th on a self-titled EP from Republic. [Pitchfork]
  • If that's not enough new Phantogram for you, they're also one of the bands featured on the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Other artists who've written original material for the film include The National, Antony and the Johnsons, Patti Smith, Santigold, and The Weeknd. The soundtrack will be out November 19th on Lionsgate/Republic Records, just a few days before the film. [Pitchfork]

  • From Seattle's US Social Club to Outer Space: Laurel Canyon troubadour Jonathan Wilson has premiered a new video for the single "Dear Friend," featured on his forthcoming full-length Fanfare, out October 15th on Downtown. [Mojo]

  • UK post-punk foursome Savages also unveiled a new video today for "Husbands," a single off their Mercury Prize-nominated debut Silence Yourself. Note: this one's best not watched during lunchtime. [This is Fake DIY]

(And I guess the end of any hopes of a Albini-produced My Bloody Valentine album.) Read the full letter here, and get a copy of your own in the 20th anniversary box set for In Utero. [Stereogum]

  • Not content to just dole out his party advice on Twitter or our Music That Matters podcast, Andrew W.K. has announced he has signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster for The Party Bible, “an unforgettable voyage in search of truth, wisdom, and party bliss." [AV Club]
