So I had literally just walked from CHVRCHES set at Sasquatch and opened my computer to write about said set when I found out that they had just released "Guns" - an amazingly good track that basically runs pop-synth circles around most other pop that's been released this summer. "Did you feel so clever?" Mayberry sings, and while it's hard to imagine the owner of that voice being mocking or scary ("You had better run from me, cause I am gonna come for you") - the track is a perfect mixture of near-terrifying raw anger and crystalline sparkling pop vocals. David Byrne and St. Vincent have a new free EP out today! Brass Tactics is comprised of two remixes, two live tracks, and one unreleased track from their epic Love This Giant album. English brother-duo Disclosure have release the studio version of their track "F for You" from their upcoming album Settle. The track is as infectious as it is infected by the "love that you speak." Never ones to bore, the track becomes almost psychedelic towards the middle, undermining the beats for a moment of bubbling and echoing space. [Pitchfork]

MusicfestNW has announced their 2013 line-up! The list for the Portland Festival that we always attend includes Animal Collective, Diplo, Deerhunter, CHVRCHES, The Helio Sequence, Youth Lagoon, Washed Out, Bleached, The Men - as well as tons of PNW based bands like La Luz, Nacho Picasso, Gaythiest, Bruxa, Beat Connection, Naomi Punk, Hausu, Mt. Seattle -based label Hush Hush Records has released Vol. 1 of remixes of Kid Smpl's Skylight - the album includes remixes by Devonwho, Domokos, WD4D, and Jerome LOL among others.While some of the remixes stick close by the original, melancholic middle of the night material, others are skittering re-imaginings of an already amazing album. Big Boi and Killer Mike have had to push their tour dates back to September due to a knee injury to Big Boi that will result in leg surgery - the two are returning home to get some probably well needed rest before heading back on the road in the fall. But all is not silent on Killer Mike's end, he will be dropping Run the Jewels in June with El-P. [CoS]

Does this count as news? The ever malleable James Franco has directed a video for "Crime (tfo remix)," a track by Daddy, the project of he and his art-school friend Tim O'Keefe. The video features slowed down footage from filming Spring Breakers - the dub-step sound-tracked Disney-starred film by Harmonie Corine. While I am worried that I might just be exhausted from Sasquatch, the track features vocals from Smokey Robinson and might just be... kind of good? Either way, it's a pretty dreamy trip into the weird world that seems to be Franco's mind. [Vice]
