  • Last night, singer-songwriter Beck, appeared at Santa Cruz's Rio Theatre to perform music from last year's sheet music album, Song Reader. These songs have not been recorded and this is the first time he has played "Sorry" and "Heaven's Ladder" live. Watch both performances below. [CoS]

  • Indie rockers, Smith Westerns, have shared "3am Spiritual," the opening track, from their upcoming album, Soft Will (out June 25 via Mom + Pop). After touring across the US this summer, the band will make a stop in Seattle at The Crocodile on August 16. Get tickets HERE. [Pitchfork]

  • Producer Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights, released a video for the track "Around The Block" off his new album, A Color Map of the Sun (out July 7). Since he partnered with LG to create the video, it makes sense that his intense, widescreen computer and equipment would get a decent amount of screen time. Advertising aside, the visuals are great and it's neat to see the work that goes into a four minute song. [CoS]

  • Both Prince and Miguel delivered amazing performances last night in Las Vegas at the Billboard Music Awards. Prince was honored with a Billboard Icon Award but Miguel's performance of "Adorn" may end up being more memorable for reasons unrelated to the music. If you want to know exactly what I'm talking about go to the 2:57 mark on the video below. Leave the long jump to the Olympians, Miguel. [CoS]
