The Babies, Brooklyn indie rock collaboration between Kevin Morby of Woods and Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls, stopped by KEXP three weeks after the release of their new album Our House on the Hill to give us a taste of the live adaptation of the record. In case you haven't checked it out yet, Our House is a fantastic record and exemplifies a wonderful combination between both Morby and Ramone's offerings (if you want a sample, grab "Get Lost" from our Song of the Day podcast). On the record, the Babies kept things pretty raw. That being the case, it is unsurprising to hear the same grit we heard on Our House here in the studio. The band is tight and they offer the same satisfactory level of musicianship and power that they do on the record. Morby and Ramone's vocals both sound excellent. Both of their quirky naturalism fits the Babies sound perfectly. Check out all four of these cuts from Our House on the Hill below! And make sure to check out the record, out now on Woodsist.
