  • Sadly, it sounds like supergroup Wild Flag is now at half-mast. Drummer Janet Weiss tells UK publication The Skinny that the band is pretty much done: “It was great, but I think it just kinda ran its course. It’s hard to have a band when you live five hours apart by plane.” Weiss is currently on tour with her long-running project Quasi, fellow former-Sleater-Kinney bandmate Carrie Brownstein is busy with her TV show Portlandia, Helium’s Mary Timony now fronts the band Ex-Hex, and Rebecca Cole currently tours with Telekinesis. • Everyone's favorite hugger Charles Bradley reunited with his 2000 backing band The Bullets for this Record Store Day "Back to Black Friday" 2013 double A-side -- stream a track from the coveted single below. [Spin]

  • Add some extra sparkle to your holiday season with this Christmas track from !!!. The single, "And Anyway It's Christmas," is due for release on December 10th. [Stereogum]

  • Alabama Shakes are almost done with their second full-length album. Drummer Steve Johnson told the Miami News Times that the as-yet-untitled effort is “tonally and sonically” different from their 2012 debut, Boys & Girls. "I feel like we’ve progressed in growing as songwriters, and while they’re different in that respect, it’s still not unbelievable that it’s the same band. It still sounds like Alabama Shakes, just experimenting with other sounds." [Consequence of Sound]
