  • The 2013 Coachella lineup has been officially shared with public. It's a pretty astounding group -- a mix of resurgent bands like Blur or The Postal Service along with tons of others who are at the top of their game. According to the timer on the website, it looks like tickets will go on sale at 10AM on Tuesday, January 29 (but you can do the math for yourself).
  • The Flaming Lips have announced that in a few months they'll release a new album called The Terror. They also released a lyric video for a new song "Sun Blows Up". Incidentally the song will not be on the album, but it will feature in a Super Bowl commercial next month. [Stereogum]

  • Famed punk band Iggy and The Stooges are going to release a new album, their first in 5 years. Called Ready To Die, the album features the returning James Williamson as producer and guitar player. Williamson, who was last in the band in 1973, rejoined in '09 when Ron Asheton passed away. In our current era of jubilantly anthemic bands like Mumford & Sons or The Head and the Heart, this album will feature songs that are the "anti-christ of anthems," according to Ed Cherney, who mixed the album. A couple of confirmed song titles are "I Got a Job But It Don't Pay Shit", and "Gun". Check out the 2010 performance below, which features the same reunited Raw Power-era Stooges that came together for Ready To Die. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Seminal punk group Black Flag will be touring the U.S. and Europe this year. Well, sort of. Former members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, and Bill Stevenson will tour as FLAG and will perform "sets that pull from all eras of Black Flag's history." [Pitchfork]

  • Who doesn't love an unexpectedly brilliant cover? The Dirty Projectors lent their talents to Usher's "Climax" during a session for Australian radio station Triple J. The highlight of the performance has to Amber. Wow. [pitchfork]
