British rock group The Heavy, rumored to be the only band David Letterman has asked to perform an encore on his show, stopped by the KEXP studios to deliver their own brand of rock and soul. The band effortlessly exudes cool, from lead singer Kelvin Swaby’s shades and grey tank top to Chris Ellul’s plaid shirt and perfect haircut. The band played some tunes from their 2012 release, The Glorious Dead, and said they are currently in the “incredibly early” stages of composing new songs but “will be writing a new record” beginning in October. The Heavy, most of whose members still live in their hometown of Bath, begin a European tour in November, but you can hear and watch their in-studio now:
