In Julia Jacklin's latest single "Body," she laments the end of a relationship and the yearning to rediscover yourself. "The song speaks for itself, but I'd say it's just a very long and exaggerated sigh," the Australian singer-songwriter told NPR Music, "Born from feelings of powerlessness when it comes to the impossible task of representing yourself the way you think is right, personally and professionally; when you feel like everything is for the taking, no matter what you do." It's a theme that reappears on her latest LP Crushing, out now via Polyvinyl Records.

Jacklin plays Thursday, November 21st at Neumos. In the meantime, watch the video for "Body," directed by her high school best friend Nick McKinlay.
