Seattle-via-Minneapolis band New Age Healers are releasing their third full-length, Debris, on June 30. The album is named after The Kessler Effect, a theory by NASA scientist Donald Kessler in which the density of objects in low Earth orbit (LEO) is high enough that collisions between objects could cause a cascade where each collision generates space debris that increases the likelihood of further collisions. “Here’s to colliding with each other,” says frontman Owen Murphy.

Our Song of the Day is the appropriately spacey “Satellites.” In KEXP’s premiere for the song, Murphy told us, "It’s about our commonality in feeling lost and alone. It's about finding people who love you when you have completely given up. Those who protect us amidst the detritus bouncing into us every day.”

Debris was recorded by Barrett Jones (Foo Fighters, Spinanes, Nirvana) at Laundry Room Studios in Seattle and mastered in London by James Aparicio (Spiritualized, Liars, Mogwai). New Age Healers will play this year’s Seagaze Music Fest on Friday, April 26 at Lo-Fi Performance Gallery.

Below, watch the video for “Bullets,” off of their last studio album, 2017’s When The Tragic Happens.
