UK group Snapped Ankles add a wild dash of performance art to their Krautrock-inspired post-punk by adorning themselves in costumes made up of dead plants, antlers, and terrifying masks while playing on vintage analog synthesizers strapped to logs.

On March 1, the band will release their sophomore full-length titled Stunning Luxury, inspired by "the community’s demise – the property developers and brokers who heat the market on the promise of Stunning Luxury. With their adopted warehouse habitat under constant threat, the woodwose have taken this sharp-suited incarnation in order to infiltrate. The resistance starts here."

Our Song of the Day is the record’s early single, “Rechargeable,” which KEXP premiered last month. The hypnotizing synth-filled song is described by the band as "a call to harness the kinetic energy of dance to push against the rigid continuity of the daily routine.”

Snapped Ankles will take the Studio 9294 stage today, Tuesday, February 5 to celebrate KEXP’s International Clash Day with a live broadcast from London at 1:30 PM PST / 9:30 PM GMT. KEXP spoke to Snapped Ankles about the significance of The Clash in a brief interview here. Check out the full schedule of performances here. Watch the video for Stunning Luxury lead single “Drink and Glide,” directed and edited by Daisy Dickinson, below.
