UK via Bahrain psych rockers Flamingods are releasing their fifth record Levitation on May 3 via Moshi Moshi Records. On the new album, the band is said to be largely inspired by the disco, funk, and psych that was coming out of the Middle East and South Asia in the ‘70s.
Our Song of the Day and the album’s lead single, “Marigold,” is a perfect taste of the sun-soaked and funky sounds they’ll be showcasing on the record. KEXP got a super early sneak peek of the song in 2017, when Flamingods played an extended version of “Marigold” live at the Halle de la Courrouze in Rennes, France, during Trans Musicales 2017.
