It's been five years since we last heard from award-winning electro-pop composer Caribou (real name: Dan Snaith), but that doesn't mean he's been slacking.
“I record music every day, and I love it – as much or more than I have always done,” Snaith said via a press release. “I feel very lucky – the thrill has never, ever left me.”
Pieces of the nearly 900 draft ideas he's collected over the past few years have coagulated into his forthcoming full-length Suddenly, out February 28th through Merge Records. Get a sneak peek of the new LP with today's featured track “You and I”, a single he says really reflects the new album.
“‘You and I’ was one of the first tracks on the album that I started, and one of the last tracks I finished; it existed in some form or other throughout the whole arc of making the record. It also captures a lot of what the record, and the title of the album, are about — the track changes suddenly and unpredictably, and it is about a change in my life that happened out of the blue.”
