As the video for today's featured track begins, this message appears on the screen: “In 2016, the UK was rocked by a seismic event. Bombay Bicycle Club went on indefinite hiatus. Without their music, British society crumbled.”
With the single "Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)" the London quartet end that break with their first new music since their Mercury Prize-nominated 2014 LP So Long, See You Tomorrow. The cheeky accompanying video was directed by former touring keyboardist, Louis Bhose. “We’re so excited to be sharing new music after five years away,” the band said via Twitter. “Recording it earlier this year reminded us all of the joy of working together on something we love.”
"Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)" is the first look at their long-awaited forthcoming full-length Everything Else Has Gone Wrong, out January 17, 2020. “This is an album for anyone who’s ever turned to music in a time of crisis, whether personal or political,” the band say via a press release. “It’s about the solace once can get from listening to music or playing music when everything else in your life or the world has gone wrong. It’s about finding kernels of hope and renewal in dire situations.”
