Indiana-based Durand Jones & The Indications are on the verge of breaking big with their recently re-released self-titled debut album. Originally released in 2016, the album was recorded on a budget of only $452.11 on a 4-track tape machine. Inspired by the titans of soul like Al Green and Sam Cooke, as well as the “should-have-beens and the never-weres,” the band makes soul music with a dash of grit. The grit comes across in today’s song of the day: “Tuck N’ Roll.” The album closer, it’s a funky, mostly instrumental piece, with the only lyrics being the chant of “Tuck n’ roll!” The deluxe reissue of Durand Jones & The Indications is out now on Dead Oceans/Colemine Records.
