Veteran musician and producer Matthew Dear released his first album under his own name in six years earlier this year. Titled Bunny, the record follows 2012’s Beams and is one of Dear’s most strange and mesmerizing albums to date. Our Song of the Day is “Modafinil Blues,” a song written with Troy Nōka, who worked on Frank Ocean’s Endless.
In between Bunny and Beams, Dear released a mix called DJ-Kicks that featured tracks by Nils Frahm, Simian Mobile Disco, and more and in 2016 he released the full-length Alpha and remix album Mouth to Mouth 10 under his alias Audion. Below, watch the video for the sprawling album opener “Bunny’s Dream.”
