Public Radio Music Day 2025

On Wednesday, October 29th, KEXP is proud to join stations around the country observing Public Radio Music Day

Public Radio Music Day is a nationwide celebration uniting public radio music stations, fans, artists, and other members of the music industry to recognize public radio’s special role in America’s music scene.

We’re also all working hard to serve our local communities during the current public media crisis – creating new programming, responding in real time to our listeners, and playing the music you need to hear to get through this.

You can learn more about this day and the stations observing it at PublicRadioMusicDay.org

Why Does Public Radio Matter to You?

Why does Public Radio Music Day matter? Because public radio music stations have turned you on to new music, boosted local music scenes and given first plays to local artists across the country, brought people together around live music, and so much more. We want to know why public radio matters to YOU! Is there a station you listened to that played a role in your journey as a music fan? Did you find any artists on music public radio that you wouldn't have listened to otherwise? Have you made friends through public radio? Let us know using the form below. Your answers may be read on the air on Wednesday, October 29th during Public Radio Music Day.
