Heavenly Beat is the one-man project of former Beach Fossils bassist John Pena (who recently left that band to focus on Heavenly Beat). His latest Heavenly Beat release is a summery album of breezy electro-pop with gentle acoustic guitar lines, chirpy synths, funky bass, synthetic strings and occasional steel drums and tropical rhythms accompanying his wispy vocals and melancholy lyrics. 8/3/2012
