The second album from this Georgia-raised, New York-based singer is another masterful set of old-school soul steeped in classic '60s sounds, from pop-friendly Motown to gritty Stax/Volt, with punchy horns, greasy organ, chunky guitars, tight rhythms and Shaw's fiery, gospel-influenced vocals reminiscent of Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye. 5/17/2012
