This Athens, AL band debuts with a knockout 4-song EP of gritty soul-rock that’s steeped in classic ‘60s southern soul, but with a tough garage-rock sound featuring rumbling electric guitar and occasional stately organ, though what stands out most are the band’s impressive songwriting chops and even more so, Brittany Howard’s soul-searing vocals. 10/28/2011
