This Austin band cleans up their sound a bit on their 3rd album, more effectively showcasing their increasingly strong songwriting and musicianship on this impressive set of rootsy garage-pop flavored with classic soul, Dylan & the Band folk-rock, doo wop and more. The album’s split into two, with the first half featuring piano-based songs recorded in Austin by producer/Spoon drummer Jim Eno, while the second half was produced in Costa Mesa, CA by Mike McHugh (who also produced their last album, 2010’s Be Brave). 10/21/2011
