- (Lost Highway)
This Austin singer’s debut album is a fun outing of high-energy garage-soul similar to King Khan & the Shrines, but more deeply rooted in old-school soul, R&B and blues. Lewis’s brash vocal style contains echoes of James Brown and Wilson Pickett, while his 8-piece band the Honeybears back him up with some white-hot soul grooves. 3/9/2009
