The Seattle hip hop duo follows up their excellent 2005 debut album with this even harder-hitting 7-song EP. Named after an early 20th century Kentucky farmers rebellion against the monopoly of Big Tobacco, Black Patch War is a smart, historically and culturally savvy set of underground hip hop with RA Scion’s rhymes and technique sounding stronger than ever while Sabzi provides what’s perhaps his most impressive blend yet of banging beats and soulful production. 4/24/2008
