Although this Chicago instrumental band has been around since the late 90’s, this is their debut full-length release. It combines their two previously released EPs, and it’s a beautiful album of intricate, lovely guitar textures, mellow bass lines and drum beats, accompanied by such varied instruments as xylophone, horns, synths, and accordion. If you can imagine what the resulting sound would be if you were to cross their Chicago bretheren, Tortoise and Sea And Cake, then you have a pretty good idea of what this is like.
