Baltimore band Future Islands have unveiled a new song for Adult Swim’s Singles Program. Titled “Calliope,” it’s the first we’ve heard from the Samuel T. Herring-led band since last year’s The Far Field. The sweeping single is the danciest we’ve heard them in a while. The Far Field is out now on 4AD. [ Under the Radar ]

Lord Huron released their third studio album, Vide Noir, last month and last night they stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform a song off of it. Choosing the downtempo doo-wop ballad “Wait By The River,” the band dressed to the nines in ‘60s-era suits while backed by a string section, horn players, and backing vocalists. Vide Noir debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, making it the band’s first top-10 album. Lord Huron will play two nights at the Moore Theatre on Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8. Detroit post-punk band Protomartyr have announced a new EP called Consolation. The EP follows last year’s full-length Relatives In Descent and features Kelley Deal of the Breeders on two of the four songs. Today, they’ve shared one of the Deal-featuring tracks, “Wheel of Fortune.” The song comes with a strange and slightly disturbing video by Yoonha Park, who also directed the band’s “Don’t Go To Anacita” video. The Consolation EP is out June 15 via Domino. The Breeders released All Nerve earlier this year. [ Pitchfork ]

Coypu Records loved Mass Gothic’s 2016 hit “Nice Night” so much that they’ve taken it upon themselves to produce the song on a flexy printed disc. Releasing today, the independent Italian label has produced a very limited run of only 50 “Nice Night” 7-inch flexy discs. Find them on their website here. Mass Gothic is the project of Noel Heroux (formerly of Hooray For Earth) whose debut self-titled album released in February 2016. The band is currently on tour opening for Modest Mouse.

Princess Nokia has shared a new video from her latest emo meets hip-hop mixtape, A Girl Cried Red. In “For The Night” we see the New York rapper smoking a blunt on a couch before stripping to her skivvies to get in a hot tub while flashes of her energetic concert performances interject. The video was co-directed by Milah Libin and Nokia herself. [ Stereogum ]
