  • Anticipation for physical copies of the new album by Car Seat Headrest will have to last a bit longer. The CDs and LPs of Teens Of Denial, originally due in stores on May 20, were recalled due to a misunderstanding, of sorts. The track "Just What I Needed / Not Just What I Needed", containing parts of the classic song by The Cars, was ultimately not authorized by the publisher nor approved by Ric Ocasek, though Matador had "negotiated for a license in good faith months ago". While copies are being pulled back, Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo rewrote and rerecorded the song, now called merely "Not What I Needed", for a new pressing. Says, Toledo, "It’s not merely an edit - it is its own thing, about half a minute longer than the original track, and goes in a much different direction", adding "I had fun doing it, and I think it’s a stronger song now." A new release for physical copies is pending, but digital copies of Teens Of Denial will still be available, with the new version of the song, on May 20.
  • Chancellor Bennet, better known as Chance the Rapper, has dropped his new mixtape Coloring Book, the followup to 2013's Acid Rap. The 14-track album features collaborations with Kanye West, Jeremih, Future, and the Chicago Children's Choir. Coloring Book is available to stream via Apple Music. [Pitchfork]

  • Welsh pop outfit Super Furry Animals have shared their first new song and video in seven years. "BingBong" is sung entirely in Welsh, but you don't have to be a native speaker to enjoy the song's funky weirdness. [Stereogum]

  • It's been months since Animal Collective released their latest album, Painting With, but they're still promoting it on the late night TV circuit. Last night, they performed the album's standout single "FloriDada" on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Watch below. [SPIN]
