Hey Marseilles are another band that feel close to the  KEXP DNA - a group of Seattle boys that developed a sound quite unlike anything else coming out of our city, they've brought their talent through our studio before, so they were a perfect band to fit into a day of celebrating both our past and our future. The 6-piece band, complete with violin and cello, brought a perfect brand of sunset pop to the Gathering Space as the light outside began to fade and the heat broke.

The boys put on an intimately captivating show, crowded on a stage too small for a half dozen guys and their gear, the thronging mass pressing in, eating up every indie beat - including a particularly moving Bowie cover that even had our hardened KEXP DJs swooning. If the crowd of girls around me were any indicator, these guys are set to be Seattle Sex Symbols soon.
