  • Today, you can finally download the free Run the Jewels album via Fools Gold Records, courtesy of rappers Killer Mike and El-P. Not only does this amazing set of songs come with all the lyrics and album art as a download, but you can pick up limited edition vinyl... and why not a new grinder while you're at it?
  • Calexico turns The Replacement's "Unsatisfied" (from their 1984 album, Let It Be) into a lovely little jaunt through folky territory. All in all, the change lowers the angsty screaming to a more subtle discontent, thanks to Joey Burns relatively similar nasal tone. You can listen for yourself here.
  • With their album Carrier out August 27th, The Dodos have now released two singles, including one today - "Substance" is an instant The Dodos classic, with its emotive chorus about love lost and melancholy surrounded by guitars and cymbals and all in that jubilant while sadly lilting sort of way. Stream at Rolling Stone.
  • Chilled out Real Estate guitarist Matt Monandale goes on a dreamy little vacation with friends in the new video for "Under Cover" from The Flower Lane by his side project, Ducktails. It's easy to imagine getting whisked away from the city during the summer to a place less busy than Greenpoint, and "Under Cover" is the perfect track to take you there. [Stereogum]
  • Zola Jesus released the first single, "Avalanche", from her upcoming album, Versions, arranged by Foetus and with accompaniment by the Mivos Quartet. Breathtakingly simple, the song features Nika Roza Danilova's voice, steady and hopeful, backed by the quartet's simple movements. [Pitchfork]
  • David Lynch has premiered "Are You Sure" from his upcoming modern blues album, The Big Dream. It's less creepy and more harmonic than you might expect. Yeah, it's full of wobbling reverbed vocals, but it's also a little bit sincere sounding, which might be weirder than what you normally get from Lynch. [Pitchfork]
  •  French darling Soko made a video for "Monster Love", a song that starts with a lovely duet with the creepy narcissistic dreamer Ariel Pink. Her voice and lyrics are a bit cute, a bit self-deprecating, and a bit perfect for the ugly gone beautiful music video that accompanies the track. [GvsB]
