Today’s song, featured on The Midday Show with Cheryl Waters is "Heartbeats" by Foxing, from the 2018 album Nearer My God on Triple Crown Records.

This year, St. Louis outfit Foxing released their polished and audacious third album, Nearer My God. The record sees the band pull out all the stops, holding nothing back to build a masterpiece of an album. One of the highlights of the LP and the song frontman Conor Murphy calls “the best song Foxing has ever written” is our Song of the Day, “Heartbeats.” With a soaring chorus, the song is at least the most danceable song Foxing has ever written.

Just yesterday, a video for the song was unveiled which finds Murphy taking on his role as The Botanist from their last video for “Slapstick,” dancing alone on the beach. Both videos were directed by former Foxing member Josh Coll, who is now focusing on videography rather than music (and doing quite well at it). Nearer My God features production from Chris Walla and follows 2015’s Dealer. Watch the video for “Heartbeats” below.
