Hot Chip have announced their seventh studio album and first in four years, A Bath Full of Ecstasy. The first taste of the record comes via lead single “Hungry Child,” a six-minute glistening house track that’s completely euphoric.

A music video directed by Samen Kesh accompanies the song, starring Freaks and Geeks’ Martin Starr and This Is Us’ Milana Vayntrub. Taking an unusual narrative structure for a music video, it’s an incredibly clever and funny way to watch the unraveling of a relationship.

Recorded in Paris and London, A Bath Full of Ecstasy follows 2015’s Why Make Sense? and sees the band open up to a more collaborative songwriting process, choosing to work with outside producers for the first time: Philippe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix) and Rodaidh McDonald (The XX, David Byrne, Sampha). A press release for the record calls it “a celebration of joy but recognizes the struggle it can take to get to that point of happiness.”
