  • Doe Bay Festival co-organizers Artist Home Presents have just announced a new outdoor music festival called Timber!, with 'a vision of uniting music, community, and the beautiful natural environment of the Pacific Northwest." Timber! falls on July 26-27 at King County’s Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation, WA, and will feature The Helio Sequence, Lemolo, Fruit Bats, Kithkin, Bryan John Appleby, River Giant, and more to be announced. Find out more here.

  • George Lewis Jr., aka Twin Shadow, premiered a new song at the Festival Nrmal in Mexico called "End of the World". Despite the video's shaky, phone-shot quality it's a very decent recording of a brand new song. Check out the video below. [CoS]

  • Another new song comes from Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt. "Whoa" is the single from Earl's long-awaited debut album Doris, and the video below features fellow Odd Future member/founder Tyler, The Creator. Earl's grown up now, with an aging ballerina wife, a trailer, and an empty swimming pool he and his friends can skate in. [CoS]

  • After a five year break from the studio to headline festivals and play to large adoring crowds, mythic synth-pop duo Empire of the Sun (of "Walking on a Dream" fame) are returning with a second album, Ice On The Dune. There's an epic Indiana-Jones-esque album trailer below worth checking out. [CoS]

  • Foals have released yet another NSFW video for "Late Night" off their LP Holy Fire. Check out the band play a set in a dingy motel below that follows several story-lines that span life, death, and the glory and seediness in between. [Stereogum]

  • Best Coast have treated today with their lo-fi cover fo "Crying", the great Roy Orbison song. But they include special guest star Snacks the Cat, right at the very end, who adds just what the track needed. Listen below. [Stereogum]
