The latest release from Manchester, UK electronic producer Andy Stott is a masterful set of dark techno/house rhythms that find him working for the first time with a vocalist (his former piano teacher Alison Skidmore), a decision that results in his most accessible, inviting, accomplished album to date. While his trademark ominous and atmospheric textures are still present, his churning mid-tempo beats are at their most thrilling and his arrangements of Skidmore's hauntingly beautiful vocals are consistently surprising and seductive. 11/2/2012
