The debut album from this British project featuring Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin along with studio engineer Tom Hopkins is a well-crafted set of ‘80s-influenced electro-pop that’s not far-removed from the bittersweet, dance-friendly music they make with Hot Chip (though more firmly indebted to forebears like Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads), with the sound ranging from techno-funk bangers and sparkling disco-pop to melancholy, atmospheric ballads. 4/20/2012
