- (Sub Pop)
In dramatic contrast to the increasingly expansive art-pop found on their previous records, this Austin trio’s seventh album is the band’s most straightforward, rock-oriented release. It’s also one of their best, with mostly concise, lyrically direct songs driven by energetic tempos, loud rock guitars, pounding drums and Jonathan Meiburg’s dramatic vocals. 1/25/2012
