This Seattle hip hop project led by former Digable Planets frontman Ishmael Butler (aka Palaceer Lazaro) follows up their impressive initial EPs with this equally adventurous full-length of avant hip hop, featuring densely produced, bass-heavy tracks combining fractured beats and buzzing synths, along with occasional African percussion, horns and female backing vocals to accompany Butler’s knotty, abstract raps laced with trenchant social criticism. 6/16/2011
