This Baltimore-based band’s 2nd album is an impressive, ‘80s-influenced blend of dreamy, melodic synth-pop and dark post-punk. Samuel T. Herring’s throaty vocals help them stand out from the crowd, sliding from a Bowiesque croon to a Waits-like bark to full-on Springsteen throat-shredding intensity. 4/9/2010
