- (Matador)
This Austin band debuts with an excellent album of lo-fi garage-rock with some strong echoes of ‘50s rock ‘n’ roll and classic ‘60s garage and folk-rock. In some ways, they’re reminiscent of fellow Austin band Strange Boys, but without the more prominent blues and other roots influences of the latter. Harlem have a gift for catchy song hooks, and this record’s loaded with them. 4/2/2010
