While this eccentric singer-songwriter’s earlier releases contained a lot of sparse acoustic ballads, his fourth album finds him embracing a more expansive sound encompassing a variety of instrumentation and musical styles, though still strongly rooted in the freewheeling psychedelic folk of the late ‘60s. 9/12/2005
