- (Echo/World's Fair)
This Liverpool band debuts with a fine album of jangly folk-rock with strong echoes of ‘60s legends the Byrds, Dylan and the Beatles, not to mention later bands like the Jayhawks and the La’s. Howie Payne’s reedy vocals are an acquired taste, but he sure knows how to write some memorable tunes steeped in the classics. 1/20/2005
