This Seattle band follows up their promising debut with this excellent set of noirish alt-country. Most of what distinguished the debut is repeated here: Gorgeous, atmospheric arrangements and Jesse’s own darkly evocative lyrics and hushed, slightly husky vocals. The difference is the band’s increasing confidence, particularly Phil Wandscher’s evocative guitar work. 5/24/2004
