The Smashing Pumpkins have shared a new song called “Solara.” It’s the first song featuring founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin in 18 years. The track was produced by Rick Rubin at Shangri La Studios in Malibu. The band will be embarking on a reunion tour next month, with a stop in Seattle on Friday, August 24 at the Key Arena. The last Smashing Pumpkins record was 2014’s Monuments to an Elegy. Last year, Billy Corgan released a solo album, Ogilala, under his full name, William Patrick Corgan. [ Under the Radar ]

Swedish songstress Lykke Li dropped her fourth album, so sad so sexy, today on RCA. Last night, ahead of its release, she stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to play album single “Deep End.” Garbed in a shiny patent leather jacket, Li looked incredibly slick.  The album follows 2014’s I Never Learn. Today, Li announced a tour that includes a stop in Seattle on Saturday, October 20 at Showbox at the Market. [ Billboard ]

LA punk quartet FIDLAR have unveiled a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar,” off of 1975’s Wish You Were Here. Their take veers sharply away from the original, aggressively shredding their way through it and adding a Dr. Dre sample. FIDLAR’s last studio album was 2015’s Too. Catch FIDLAR at Showbox SoDo on Tuesday, October 30. [ Consequence of Sound ]

Sacramento experimental hip hop band Death Grips have slowly been dropping singles off their forthcoming album, Year of the Snitch, with little details on when the album would be released. Today, they’ve shared another one, “Ha Ha Ha,” and finally announced that Year of the Snitch will be out June 22. The previously released singles include “Streaky,” “Black Paint,” and “Flies.” Death Grips’ last album was 2016’s Bottomless Pit. [ Pitchfork ]
