Phantogram have been advocating heavily for the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention since the death of frontwoman Sarah Barthel’s sister via suicide. Earlier in the week, the duo accepted the Public Awareness Award for their work. Today, they’ve shared two songs whose proceeds will go towards the AFSP, “Someday” and a cover of Sparklehorse’s “Saturday.” Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse also died by suicide in 2010. Phantogram’s last album was 2016’s Three. [ SPIN ]

Right before releasing her sophomore album, Tell Me How You Really Feel, Courtney Barnett stopped by The Tonight Show for some last-minute promo. Performing “Nameless, Faceless,” Barnett did a fairly straightforward performance of the rocking lead single. Tell Me How You Really Feel is the Australian singer-songwriter’s sophomore solo album, out today via Mom + Pop, following 2015’s Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit. SZA has unveiled her previously teased video for “Garden,” off of last year’s acclaimed Ctrl. The clip, directed by Karena Evans (director of Drake’s “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What” videos), sees SZA on a tropical island and features Donald Glover and her mom, Audrey Rowe. The R&B songstress was recently featured in Glover’s viral video for “This Is America.” SZA is currently on tour with Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q for TDE’s Championship Tour. [ Pitchfork ]

Last night, MGMT stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play five songs off of their latest album, Little Dark Age. The duo chose “When You Die,” “James,” “TSLAMP,” “Little Dark Age,” and “Me and Michael.” The daytime set featured flashing red visuals illuminated behind the band. Little Dark Age is MGMT’s fourth studio album, following 2013’s self-titled. [ Under the Radar ]

Devendra Banhart and Joan Of Arc have been paired up to cover each other’s work by Joyful Noise Recordings’ latest Cause & Effect 7” series. The Venezuelan American Banhart is taking on Joan Of Arc’s “Shown & Told,” which has been shared today. Alongside the release, Banhart stated: “Holy moly do I love Joan of Arc… one of the few bands who, almost 20 years later, I’m still interested in what they have to say, still excited about what direction their work will go… I first heard this song (Shown & Told) in a live setting, the ebb and flow of the hypnotic chords and the depth of the lyrics just knocked me out… what have I done to their song? Surely made it dull and opaque in comparison to the original , and maybe that’s the point, here in homage to one of the great artists, let me say “I hope you enjoy this version but please listen to the original!” Banhart’s last record was 2016’s Ape In Pink Marble.
