Electronic musician, producer, singer/songwriter, photographer, and activist Moby is releasing a new album this Friday called Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt. He's previously shared the singles "Like a Motherless Child" and "Mere Anarchy" from the album, and today he's shared the third. "This Wild Darkness" is a slow burner that features a gospel choir backing. Moby said of the song: "The world is a baffling place, full of confusion and darkness. “This Wild Darkness” is essentially an existential dialog between me and the gospel choir — me talking about my confusion, the choir answering with longing and hope." The single is accompanied by a black & white video directed by Rob Gordon Bralver. Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt is out March 2 via Mute. Over the weekend, Grimes revealed via social media that she was “back in the studio making a million beats." She then added in a since-deleted Instagram comment that she's working on “one final album for my shit label and then my first album on a label of my choosing which im crazy stoked about eeeee. or i might go fully independent, researching options. the second one will be extreme darkness and chaos, the first will be highly collaborative and most glorious light.” The Canadian musician has now apologized for criticizing her label 4AD, saying "i'm sorry negative shit i said ended up in the press today, i didn't mean to spread bad vibes ugh. to make up for it here's a drawing im working on of aliens examining sentient black goo." Grimes' last release was 2015's critically-adored Art Angels. [ The Fader ]

Merge Records have unveiled a teaser trailer announcing a new project called Tracyanne & Danny, which is the teaming up of Tracyanne Campbell of Camera Obscura and Danny Coughlan of Crybaby. An official album has not been announced but it seems as though May 25 might be the release date for the album. Camera Obscura's last album was 2013's Desire Lines, before the passing of founding member and keyboardist Carey Lander in 2015. [ Under the Radar ]

Seattle-based Car Seat Headrest is currently on tour supporting the recently-reworked and re-released Twin Fantasy. Last night, the band played a show in Perth and showed their love for Frank Ocean (again) by covering Blonde track "White Ferrari" and then blending it into their own "Twin Fantasy (Those Boys)." Will Toledo recently referenced Ocean in the updated version of "Cute Thing," saying “Give me Frank Ocean’s voice/ And James Brown’s stage presence" and covered Ocean's "Ivy" while on tour in 2016. Twin Fantasy (Face to Face) is out now on Matador. CSH will play Real Art Tacomas on Thursday, April 12. [ Consequence of Sound ]
