FKL is the collaborative project of Seattle-based husband-wife duo Sage Redman and Joe Gillick. Beginning under the name Funktionslust while studying together at London’s prestigious arts school Goldsmith University, the now Seattle-based duo recently shortened their name to FKL and released their debut full-length album Out Of Tune at the end of 2017. The album capped off a fruitful year for the pair that also included the launch of their online pirate radio station, Orphan. Radio. After a brief hiatus, Orphan. Radio will be re-launching on Saturday, February 10th at their new home in Georgetown’s Equinox Studios. Here’s some words from FKL about their Midnight in a Perfect World mix that spotlights cutting-edge UK-centric electronic/club rhythms: “We recorded this soon after getting back from a visit to the UK and the trip brought back all these mad feelings and anger around the tragic Grenfell Tower fires, so we did a UK mix of varied underground UK culture.”
