Saying goodbye is hardly ever easy. Seattle's been lucky enough to be home to surf-pop band Tangerine over the past few years, watching them grow from their jangly debut EP Pale Summer to last year's self-assured and vibrant Sugar Teeth. They've been easy to latch onto from the start, giving a ray of light in our city's often grey days. No, Tangerine isn't breaking up. They're just uprooting and moving to Los Angeles — an apt fit for their joyous anthems. But still, it feels like a loss for the Seattle scene and everything Tangerine's given back to it.

Before they pack up and head out for the sunshine, they're going to get a proper Northwest sendoff at Neumos on Saturday night, July 1. They'll be joined with fellow local acts Fauna Shade and Emma Lee Toyoda, filling out the show as a celebration instead of a wake. Don't think about it as a "goodbye" but a "see ya soon." Come through and get all the sweet Tangerine licks you can until they come visit again. Let loose, jump around, sing-along and give them the best Seattle sendoff possible.Revisit Tangerine's past KEXP sessions below.
