Local electronic duo ODESZA had a meteoric rise in 2014 with their sophomore album In Return and it shows with their new large-scale cinematic video for "Line of Sight" off of their upcoming third album A Moment Apart. Directed by Daniel Brown, the video tells the story of a young boy wandering a war-ravaged jungle full of less-than-hospitable robots that seem to have taken over. He then comes across a deactivated robot and strikes up a beautiful friendship. A Moment Apart will be out September 8 via Counter Records. [ Consequence of Sound ]

LCD Soundsystem have been teasing a new album but now they have finally made the official announcement. The album will be called American Dream and is due out September 1 via Columbia/DFA. It includes two songs the band released in May, "Call the Police" and title track "American Dream." They also announced a world tour that includes fifteen dates at New York's Brooklyn Steel and five dates in November at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium. Unfortunately there are no Seattle dates but that could be because of their Sasquatch! set last month. [ Under the Radar ]

Fleet Foxes had a busy weekend on the television show circuit to promote their new album Crack-Up, which has been receiving rave reviews. They started by stopping by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to play “Third Of May" and followed that up with an appearance on CBS This Morning, where they did “Third Of May,” “If You Need To, Keep Time On Me,” and “Fool’s Errand." Fleet Foxes will be in Seattle for a two-night stint at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, September 14th and Friday, September 15th. [ Stereogum ]

It's been ten years since the White Stripes' beloved album Icky Thump was released and in celebration of that, Third Man Records is releasing a deluxe reissue called Icky Thump X. The colored double-LP set, released as part of the label’s Vault subscription series, will come with 12″ reissues of the album’s nine B-sides, including alternate versions of album tracks and covers of Hank Williams and Bill Carter and the Rovin Gamblers. The set will also come with a collection of pre-album demos (“The Red Demos”), a photo book, an art print by album cover designer Rob Jones, and decorative pins. All of this will be packaged in a “soft-touch coated telescoping box.” [ Spin ]

Saturday night, the “Bob’s Burgers” live show took place at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, where cast members and “special guests” performed original music from the series. EL VY, the duo of the National’s Matt Berninger and Menomena’s Brent Knopf, was one of those special guests. The show featured a song called “Electric Love,” about the love between Thomas Edison and an elephant named Topsy, as well as performances of the Bob’s Burgers theme song, Gene’s song about being afraid of snakes, and an H. Jon Benjamin/Larry Murphy duet of “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.” The “Bob’s Burgers” soundtrack was recently released on Sub Pop. EL VY’s album Return to the Moon came out in 2015 while the National are set to release their new album Sleep Well Beast and embark on a world tour, with a date at the Paramount Theatre on Wednesday, November 29th.
