With over thirty years of music and a slew of singles, EPs, live albums, and full-lengths, it's clear the influential UK band The Wedding Present aren't "going" anywhere. Instead, on their forthcoming ninth full-length, titled Going, Going..., the long-running indie icons take us on a musical road trip across the USA. Today, KEXP is excited to present the world premiere of "Bear," along with its accompanying video. Listen and watch below.

This audio/visual couplet is indicative of the unique nature of the new album: twenty tracks connect a cross-country story, with visuals for each song. Founding member/bandleader David Gedge explains, "I didn’t want to make the next release just ‘another album’ and so I came up with the idea of twenty ‘interconnected’ pieces of music. Then, in the summer of 2014 I travelled across the USA with photographer Jessica McMillan and we made some atmospheric short films to accompany the tracks. Since then it’s been a case of progressing through the music, trying all sorts of ideas, seeing how they work set against the visuals." To celebrate its release, the band will perform the new album in its entirety at five lucky venues across the UK with projections of the accompanying films. The track "Bear" is classic Weddoes, with Gedge's iconic vocals singing lovelorn lyrics against melodic-to-frantic guitars, while the clip of moving water reflects the transitory nature of relationships.Going, Going... hits stores on September 2nd via Gedge's own label Scopitones in three different formats: standard CD + DVD, a deluxe CD + DVD package (a bonus 8-track CD featuring acoustic, session, and live versions of songs from the album in a hard-bound ‘book pack’ along with the DVD and lyrics), and a deluxe double-LP + DVD set (on heavyweight vinyl ad the album on CD. Also contained in this format will be a 7” single with four acoustic versions of songs from the album, the DVD and lyrics)
