Twins Kim and Kelley Deal celebrate their 54th birthday today, which got us thinking about twins in bands. It's no wonder it works so well: researchers have found that twin babies interact in the womb, so they're collaborating from even before birth. Twins have also been known to exhibit a sensitivity towards the other where they seem to share thoughts and finish each other's sentences. That must come in handy in the recording studio, right? Inspired by the Deal sisters' work in The Breeders and The Amps, and impressed with the lack of sibling rivalry it must take to be in a band together, KEXP takes a look at some of our favorite twins in this Video Roundup:

Tegan & Sara Quin

Simone and Amedeo Pace

Tim and Phil Hanseroth

Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir
(both have since left the band)

Zach and Ben Yudin

Jay and Michael Aston

Aaron and Bryce Dessner

Chandra and Leigh Watson

Wendy and Susannah Melvoin

Lee and Tyler Sargent
(both brothers left the band in 2012)
