Backed by swaying chains of light that were only made to look more grandeur by the high winds that accosted Sasquatch! Music Festival throughout Sunday, Purity Ring captivated the Bigfoot stage from start to finish. Generating the largest crowd (at Bigfoot) of the weekend, the duo did not disappoint, complimenting their outstanding lights with equally compelling music. The group gave fans an insight into the mindset of their genre bending music with their dazzling lights and props, as Megan James weaved through chains of light, Corin Roddick plucked away on lighted crystal midi pads. It was a surreal experience to say the least, and as the lights drifted and rose with James’ swaying melodies, Corin’s beats could be felt as well as heard. The group did well to re-mix songs that usually housed guest rappers, instead of just playing the verses, they put new bass heavy twists on the songs offering a unique live experience. It takes a lot to compete with the draw of a Cure set, but Purity Ring proved throughout the night they were more than worthy of demanding your Sunday night.
